What Is Compounding? Compounding is the art of creating specialized medications by combining various drugs in their pure forms and dosing them to meet the needs of the individual patient. Compounding allows us to introduce or extract certain parts of a medication such as adjusting the flavoring or ingredients to meet a clients needs.
