Morning sickness
Nausea and vomiting during pregnancy poses some unique problems. We encourage any women with symptoms to discuss the options for treating nausea and vomiting during pregnancy with their physician. If your physician determines that medication is necessary, promethazine in a transdermal gel is a convinient treatment option. Promethazine is a topical gel that is dispensed in pre-measured amounts and it is massaged into the underside of the wrist or just below the ear on the neck area. By utilizing promethazine as a topical gel is allows the medication to pass through the skin and directly into the blood stream. This medication starts working in as little as 5 minutes and can last up to six hours. It does not require refrigeration and the pre-measured doses can easily be taken anywhere.
Directions: Massage into the underside of the wrist or below the ear on the neck every four to
six hours as needed for nausea and vomiting.

Domperidone
Domperidone is a prescription drug that can help women increase their milk supplies. Breast-feeding is one of the most rewarding experiences between a mother and child. However, it is a learned experience and can be frustrating at times when milk supplies are low. Lactation consultants and physicians can recommend many ways to try to stimulate milk production. Sometimes medication can prove to be very helpful. Domperidone can stimulate or increase the production of milk, probably by increasing prolactin production by the pituitary gland. Prolactin is the hormone that stimulates the cells in the mother's breast to produce milk.
If your physician feels that you would benefit from Domperidone he/she can call Faast Pharmacy at 661-410-7979 or fax a prescription to 661-410-7980.
